Frequently asked questions
How does product scanning work?
You complete your profile, scan the barcode, and Allergia directly compares the ingredient list with your allergens.
Are results always reliable?
Allergia gives you a clear, personalized reading based on available product information. Some collaborative data can change with recipes or contain errors.
How are allergen alerts handled?
Allergia compares available ingredients with the allergens you selected and directly displays a clear result for your profile.
Where are my allergen profiles stored?
Your profiles, allergens, and history stay on your phone in an encrypted local database. Allergia does not create a centralized database of individual allergy profiles.
What data is used without consent?
Without consent, Allergia uses only the technical data necessary for the app to operate. Your allergen profiles stay on your phone.
What happens if I accept statistics?
With your consent, Allergia receives strictly anonymous statistics related to selected allergens. Usage data remains separate, is pseudonymized, and requires separate consent. No allergy-related data is collected for profiles declared as under 16 years old.
Can I withdraw my consent?
Yes. You withdraw your consent from the app privacy settings. Withdrawal does not erase what was lawfully processed before, but it blocks the relevant processing going forward.
How long are statistical data retained?
Statistics used for service improvement are retained for a maximum of 30 days before automatic deletion.
How does Allergia protect users under 16?
Profiles declared as under 16 years old benefit from enhanced protection. Allergy-related information stays on the device and is not transmitted to Allergia’s servers, even in statistical form.
What is the difference between the free and Premium versions?
Premium enriches your experience with advanced features to help you follow your allergens more easily. Included benefits are displayed clearly before every subscription.
Can I report a missing product?
You can report a missing product. Reporting is voluntary and you choose the information sent, such as the barcode, brand, or useful photos.
How can I request access to or deletion of my data?
You manage your local data from the app settings. For an access, rectification, or deletion request, contact Allergia from the Contact page.
